Play. Taste. Discover.
Buderim Ginger has been producing Australia's finest ginger products since 1941 — growing from a small hinterland farming co-operative into one of the world's largest ginger processors. Their home, The Ginger Factory in Yandina, has become one of the Sunshine Coast's most loved family attractions: nine hectares of subtropical gardens, heritage rides, guided tours, live shows, artisan shopping, and a café that turns Queensland's favourite root into everything from gelato to ginger beer.
Entry to the grounds is completely free. You can spend a full day wandering the tropical gardens and rainforest walks, exploring the Rainbrella Project art installation, letting kids loose on playgrounds and the Zog augmented-reality trail — all without spending a cent. Paid experiences include riding Moreton the 120-year-old Ginger Train, the Overboard boat ride, a guided factory tour with tastings, and the live bee show with honey sampling.
The Ginger Factory sits just off the Bruce Highway in Yandina, only 60 minutes north of Brisbane, 20 minutes from Noosa, and 15 minutes from Maroochydore. It's right across the road from Nutworks & The Chocolate Factory — making for a perfect hinterland pairing.

Overboard Boat Ride

Factory & Processing Tour
A 40-minute guided tour discovering how ginger is grown, harvested, and made into Buderim products — from paddock to plate. Finishes with a tasting plate of ginger treats.

🆓 Plenty to Do Without Spending a Cent
The Ginger Factory's free-entry model means you can enjoy an incredible amount without buying a ticket. The grounds alone offer hours of exploration — tropical gardens, a rainforest walk with turtles, water dragons and bush turkeys, and the spectacular Rainbrella Project (hundreds of rainbow umbrellas suspended in the garden canopy by local artist Sophy Blake).
Kids can explore Australia's first Zog: A Forest Adventure Trail — an augmented-reality experience based on Julia Donaldson's book, with challenges, a dragon schoolhouse, and giant chess. There's also Little Explorers soft play, an outdoor playground with tunnels and slides, the Bee-Trice jumping castle, free Craft Tuesdays at the Gingertown Creative Hub, giant snakes & ladders, and giant Jenga. Free tasting stations are set up throughout the day in the Ginger Shop.
