Overview

The Birdsville Races are an iconic outback event — an authentic blend of racing excitement, local culture and spectacular desert landscapes. This 6-day coach tour is designed for travellers who want to enjoy the races without the logistics: we'll handle transport, camping, race entries and local guided experiences.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1 — Depart Brisbane → Roma

Comfort stops in Dalby & Chinchilla. Overnight in Roma.

Day 2 — Roma → Birdsville (Camp setup)

Arrive midday, camp check-in, explore Birdsville and visit Big Red at sunset.

Day 3 — Outback touring & Race Day

Guided local touring then afternoon at the racetrack for race meetings.

Day 4 — Birdsville Cup / Picnic Races

Full day of racing and festivities — fashions, auctions & live entertainment.

Day 5 — Break camp → Charleville

Depart Birdsville, travel via Windorah and Quilpie, overnight in Charleville.

Day 6 — Return to Brisbane

Overnight transfer with arrival into Brisbane (times vary).

Fitness & Accessibility

This tour involves short to moderate walks on uneven ground and steps in/out of coaches. Please contact us before booking if you have mobility or medical concerns.

Deposit & Payment

A deposit is required to secure your booking. Final payment terms will be provided at time of booking — typical final payment 4 weeks prior to departure.

Cancellation policy

Cancellations incur fees depending on the timing. Travel insurance is strongly recommended. Exact terms provided at booking.
