Brisbane 2032 Olympic Tours
Your traveller's guide to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games — the new Victoria Park stadium, venues across Queensland, getting around, and how to plan the trip of a lifetime. From a Queensland tour company that has called this state home since 1974.
The International Olympic Committee awarded Brisbane the 2032 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games — making Australia the first nation to host three Summer Olympics, after Melbourne 1956 and Sydney 2000.
Brisbane was the first city chosen under the IOC's new host-selection process, in recognition of South-East Queensland's existing venues, transport credentials and a plan built around sustainability.
A once-in-a-generation Games for Queensland
For just over two weeks in the Queensland winter, the eyes of the world turn to the Sunshine State. The Games will stretch from Brisbane and the Gold Coast to Cairns, the Whitsundays and Toowoomba — showcasing one of the planet's great subtropical regions. The plan centres on a $7.1 billion venue program, 17 new and upgraded venues, and a network in which the great majority of facilities already exist or are temporary.
The New Main Stadium
A new 63,000-seat stadium is being built at Victoria Park, Herston — the centrepiece for ceremonies and athletics. Designed by Cox Architecture, Hassell and Japan's Azusa Sekkei, and inspired by the wraparound veranda of the classic Queenslander home.
A Statewide Legacy
The Games are expected to draw millions of visitors and create jobs across tourism, hospitality and transport. Beyond the venues, the plan funds new transport corridors and $250 million for grassroots sporting clubs across Queensland.
Built to Last
Upgraded facilities at Suncorp Stadium (Lang Park), the new National Aquatic Centre, the Queensland Tennis Centre and regional venues from Cairns to Toowoomba are designed for the Games — then to serve Queensland communities for decades after.
Where Brisbane 2032 will be held
Competition spreads across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast, regional Queensland and selected venues in Melbourne and Sydney. Most facilities already exist or are temporary, with 17 new and upgraded venues forming the backbone — one of the most sustainable Games plans in modern history. The full sports programme is being finalised by the Brisbane 2032 Organising Committee.

Moving across a Games spread over a whole state
Brisbane 2032 is built on a transformed transport network. Major projects are being delivered to connect the venues, the airports and the regions — and Cooee Tours is designed to fill the gaps that timetables leave behind, with door-to-door transfers and guided links between them.
Cross River Rail
A new underground rail line beneath the Brisbane River with new inner-city stations, easing movement across the CBD and to southern venues.
Brisbane Metro
High-frequency electric bus rapid transit linking key corridors across the city, with frequent services through the inner suburbs.

Brisbane & Gold Coast Airports
Two international gateways serve the Games. Cooee Tours plans private and group transfers from both directly to accommodation and venues — or book a dedicated meet-and-greet through Airport Shuttle Services.
Where Cooee Fits In
Public transport handles the crowds; we handle the in-between — early-morning venue runs, regional day trips, group charters and guided sightseeing on rest days.

Brisbane 2032 — your questions answered
The most common questions about the Games, venues, transport and planning a trip — answered with current 2026 information.
When will the Brisbane 2032 Olympics take place?
The Brisbane 2032 Summer Olympic Games are scheduled for 23 July to 8 August 2032, followed by the Paralympic Games later that year. The Games fall in the Queensland winter — mild, dry and ideal for visitors. Session times and the full schedule will be confirmed closer to the event.
Where is the main stadium for the Brisbane 2032 Olympics?
The main stadium is the new Brisbane Stadium at Victoria Park (Barrambin), Herston — a 63,000-seat venue designed by Cox Architecture, Hassell and Azusa Sekkei, hosting the ceremonies and athletics. Earlier plans for The Gabba were set aside before the Victoria Park stadium was confirmed in the Queensland Government's 2032 Delivery Plan in March 2025. The site was transferred to the Games delivery authority on 1 June 2026 and construction is underway.
Which venues will host Brisbane 2032 events?
The Queensland Government is delivering 17 new and upgraded venues, part of a wider network across the state. Key Brisbane venues include Brisbane Stadium at Victoria Park (ceremonies, athletics), the National Aquatic Centre at the Centenary Pool site in Spring Hill, the Queensland Tennis Centre, the upgraded Brisbane Showgrounds (also the Athletes Village) and Suncorp Stadium. Co-host regions include the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Cairns, Townsville and the Whitsundays, Rockhampton and Toowoomba, with selected football in Melbourne and Sydney.
How will visitors get around during the Games?
Brisbane 2032 is built around an upgraded transport network, including Cross River Rail, Brisbane Metro, the Coomera Connector and faster rail towards the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. Recent Games have bundled public transport with event tickets; Brisbane's details will be confirmed closer to the time. Cooee Tours complements the network with door-to-door transfers, group charters and guided tours linking accommodation, venues and attractions.
Can I book Brisbane 2032 tour packages now?
Not yet — packages are not open for sale. Official tickets and accommodation are expected to be released from around 2030. You can register interest with Cooee Tours now at contact@cooeetours.com.au for priority notification. In the meantime, the best way to assess our service is to join one of our regular Queensland day tours, available today.
What was the original Gabba plan and why did it change?
The original 2021 plan proposed rebuilding The Gabba as the main Olympic stadium, but costs grew and the proposal drew criticism. An independent review led by former Lord Mayor Graham Quirk recommended scrapping the rebuild, and in March 2025 the Queensland Government's 2032 Delivery Plan confirmed a new stadium at Victoria Park as the centrepiece instead.
How will the Games benefit Queensland?
The Games are expected to draw millions of visitors and create jobs across tourism, hospitality and transport, while leaving lasting infrastructure — new transport corridors, upgraded venues and expanded accommodation. The $7.1 billion venue program is matched by transport upgrades and $250 million for grassroots sporting clubs across the state.
How early should international visitors plan?
Ideally two to three years ahead — from roughly 2029–2030 for Brisbane 2032. Official ticketing is expected to open around 2030 via a registration and ballot system. Accommodation across Brisbane and the surrounding regions becomes scarce well over a year out, so early planning pays off.
Will events be held outside Brisbane?
Yes. Brisbane 2032 uses co-host regions across Queensland — the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Cairns, Townsville and the Whitsundays, Rockhampton and Toowoomba — plus selected football at established venues in Melbourne and Sydney. It's a genuinely statewide Games, which makes combining sport with sightseeing easy.
What can visitors combine with event days?
Queensland's icons are all within reach: the Great Barrier Reef (Cairns and the Whitsundays), Gold Coast beaches and theme parks, the Scenic Rim and Mount Tamborine hinterland, Noosa and the Sunshine Coast, K'gari (Fraser Island), Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, Australia Zoo and South Bank. Cooee Tours can build multi-day itineraries that weave these around your event days.
