Our Commitment

Inclusive Travel Is at the Heart of Everything We Do

At Cooee Tours, we believe that everyone deserves to experience the beauty and adventure of Australia and New Zealand — regardless of age, mobility, or accessibility needs. Since 2015, we've been building Queensland's most inclusive touring program, purpose-designed to welcome seniors, wheelchair users, people with disability, NDIS participants, and their carers.

We understand that accessible travel means something different to every person. Whether you use a manual or electric wheelchair, require boarding assistance, travel with a support worker, have hearing or vision impairments, or simply need extra time and comfort stops — our team is trained, equipped, and genuinely committed to making your journey smooth, safe, and memorable.

Our wheelchair-accessible coaches feature hydraulic lifts, secure tie-down points, wide aisles and grab rails. Our routes are planned with accessible restrooms, paved pathways, and low-gradient viewing areas wherever possible. And we never rush — because great travel takes the time it takes.

"The spirit of adventure shouldn't have limits. We're here to make sure it doesn't."

What We Provide

Accessible Tour Features & Disability Travel Support

From vehicle design to tour pace — every detail is considered with accessibility in mind.

Wheelchair & Mobility Aid Support

Our dedicated accessible coaches accommodate manual wheelchairs, electric wheelchairs, mobility walkers, and scooters. Ramps, hydraulic lifts, and Australian-standard tie-down points are fitted on all accessible vehicles. Provide us your chair's dimensions and we'll ensure a perfect fit.

Companion & Carer Support

Support persons, companions, and carers are always welcome on Cooee Tours. We offer discounted or complimentary companion tickets on many tours, with flexible adjacent seating so you travel together comfortably. NDIS support workers travel at reduced rates on applicable tours.

Modern, Comfort-Focused Fleet

Our touring coaches feature wide aisles, grab rails throughout, low-step or kneeling entry, climate control, on-board accessible restrooms on long routes, and ample legroom. Every coach in our accessible fleet is maintained to the highest standard and regularly inspected.

Sensory & Communication Support

Our guides use PA audio systems for clear commentary. With advance notice, we provide written large-print itineraries, adjust spoken descriptions for guests with vision impairment, and accommodate hearing support devices. We welcome Auslan-fluent travellers and will work to meet your communication needs.

Flexible Pacing & Comfort Breaks

Every Cooee tour is paced with accessibility in mind. We plan generous boarding time, regular comfort stops at accessible facilities, and activity alternatives for guests who may not be able to complete certain sections. We adapt — always — to the group's needs on the day.

Medical Awareness & First Aid

All drivers and staff hold current first aid certificates. We accommodate portable oxygen concentrators, CPAP machines, insulin and medication refrigeration, and other medical equipment. Emergency protocols are established on every tour, and we communicate clearly about any health considerations on your route.

Assistance Animals Welcome

Accredited assistance animals — including guide dogs, hearing dogs, and PTSD support animals — are welcome on all Cooee Tours vehicles at no extra charge, in accordance with Australian law. Let us know when booking so we can allocate appropriate seating for you and your animal.

Accessible Route Planning

Before any tour, we assess each destination's accessibility: parking proximity, path surfaces and gradient, accessible restroom availability, seating and shade, and alternative viewing options for guests unable to complete walking sections. You'll receive this information before you board.

Dietary & Special Meal Support

We cater for a wide range of dietary requirements on day tours and multi-day holidays — including diabetic-friendly, allergen-conscious, soft-food, and texture-modified meals where needed. Provide your requirements when booking and our team will coordinate with venues in advance.

★★★★★
"Cooee Tours made my mum's 80th birthday trip truly possible. She uses a walker and was so worried about keeping up with everyone, but the driver was patient and kind, the coach was perfect, and the accessible stops were beautiful. We had the most incredible day at the Sunshine Coast hinterland — cellar door tasting, Eumundi Markets, lunch in Noosa. No stress, no rushing. This is what inclusive travel should look like."
