"The India extension to Kerala backwaters was the highlight of the entire trip. After the intensity of the Golden Triangle, drifting along the waterways on a houseboat was exactly the contrast we needed. Flawlessly organised."

"Japan completely exceeded our expectations. Watching the Shinkansen pull in to the station and arriving in Kyoto to cherry blossoms in full bloom was genuinely emotional. Every detail of this tour was considered. We'll be back."

Asia Tours FAQ

Everything Australian travellers ask before booking an Asia holiday with Cooee Tours.

It varies by region. Southeast Asia (Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam) is best November–April during the dry season — avoiding the monsoon. India's Golden Triangle is ideal October–March before the summer heat. Japan's cherry blossom season (late March to mid-April) and autumn foliage (October–November) are the most popular times. Bali's dry season runs May–September. Given the variety, there's no single "bad" season for Asia — our team will help you choose timing to match your preferred destinations.
Requirements vary significantly. Thailand, Bali (Indonesia) and Cambodia offer visa-on-arrival or simple e-visa for Australians. India requires an e-Visa (eTV) arranged online before arrival. China requires a visa obtained from the Chinese embassy in Australia in advance — requirements are evolving rapidly so check the latest on the Australian Government's Smartraveller website. Japan currently requires no visa for Australian passport holders for stays under 90 days. Our team provides current, personalised visa guidance at booking.
Absolutely. Our Asia tours are specifically designed for Australian travellers, including first-time visitors to the region. Expert local guides handle the navigation, language and cultural context, so you can focus entirely on experiencing each destination. Our comfort-first approach means quality hotels, air-conditioned transport and manageable walking distances — Asia made accessible without sacrificing authenticity.
Our Asia packages include hand-picked hotel accommodation, local English-speaking guides, air-conditioned private transport, listed entrance fees and selected meals as noted in each itinerary. International flights from Australia are not included, giving flexibility to book your preferred airline and routing. Popular extensions including Ha Long Bay cruises, Kerala houseboats and Yangtze River cruises are available as add-ons — ask our team for current pricing.
Yes — combining countries is one of the most popular ways to experience Asia. Popular pairings include Thailand and Cambodia, India with a Kerala extension, Japan with South Korea, or a Grand Asia journey combining multiple destinations. Our custom tours specialists can design a bespoke multi-country itinerary around your interests, preferred travel dates and budget. Contact us to start planning.
