Queensland's incredible diversity stems from its vast geography and varied landscapes. From the subtropical Gold Coast to the cooler Garden City of Toowoomba on the ranges, from pristine beaches to fertile volcanic valleys — each region we visit offers distinct characteristics shaped by climate, history and local culture. No two tours feel alike, even to seasoned travellers.
The Gold Coast's central location within Southeast Queensland makes it the ideal launchpad. Easy access to the Tweed Valley to the south, the Great Dividing Range to the west, and the Sunshine Coast and hinterland to the north means remarkable day trips are genuinely possible in all directions. Our carefully planned routes use Queensland's excellent road network while incorporating scenic byways and viewpoints that highway travellers simply never see.
Planning Around the Seasons
Queensland's subtropical climate means seasonal timing genuinely matters. Summer (December–February) brings afternoon storms and lush, green landscapes — dramatic and beautiful, though some outdoor activities are better suited to other times. Autumn (March–May) offers perfect touring conditions with mild temperatures and minimal rainfall. Winter (June–August) provides crisp, clear days ideal for hinterland and mountain trips. Spring (September–November) is peak season — the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers transforms the entire Garden City, temperatures are perfect, and every garden is at its most spectacular.
Our Commitment to Sustainable Tourism
Cooee Tours recognises our responsibility to protect the destinations we share with our passengers. We partner exclusively with eco-certified and sustainability-minded venues, support local businesses across every itinerary, minimise waste through reusable water systems, and educate our passengers about conservation practices wherever possible. We actively work with destinations like Tropical Fruit World that demonstrate sustainable agriculture, support heritage sites preserving Queensland's history, and promote cultural experiences that directly benefit local communities and artists.
