Great Ocean Road Day Tour
Twelve Apostles, Bells Beach, Great Otway koalas and rainforest — all in one day from Melbourne. Transport, guide, and all park fees included. Most popular single-day tour in the country for good reason.
Real tours, real guides, real Australia — without the real financial hit. We've spent 30+ years figuring out how to get more Australia into every dollar you spend.
We trim the fat, not the experience. Our 30 years of supplier relationships mean you pay less for the exact same Australia everyone else is paying more for.
The price you see includes green fees, transport, accommodation (multi-day), park fees and all listed activities. Zero upsells on tour. Zero surprises at checkout. Budget travellers aren't second-class — they're smart travellers.
Three decades of relationships with national parks, operators and accommodation providers means we access wholesale rates individual travellers simply can't. We pass every cent of that saving straight to you.
Our max-12 groups mean your guide actually knows you — no one gets left behind, lost, or undercatered for. And sharing a quality vehicle across 12 people makes premium transport surprisingly affordable.
Find the same tour cheaper anywhere else in Australia and we'll match it. We've been doing this since 1992 and we back our pricing with confidence. If we can beat a price, we will.
Full refund up to 60 days before departure. 50% back between 30–59 days. Budget travel means being nimble — your plans change, and we understand that. No lock-in anxiety.
Budget travel isn't just for students. We have budget tours designed for families, solo travellers over 50, couples, and corporate groups watching the expense budget. Australia is for everyone.
Organised by price so you can plan without the guesswork. Every price shown is the real price — all-inclusive.

30 years of budget travellers have taught us a thing or two. Here's what actually saves money.
Autumn (March–May) and spring (September–November) offer the same Australia for consistently lower prices than peak summer and July school holidays. Accommodation, tours and flights all soften. Queensland in particular drops significantly outside June–August.
A 3-day package almost always costs less than three separate day tours. The bundled transport and accommodation savings are substantial — and you see more because there's no back-and-forth to a city base each night.
Subscribe to our newsletter. We release unsold tour spots at significant discounts — typically 2–4 weeks before departure when groups haven't quite filled. If your schedule is flexible, these are genuinely remarkable deals.
If you find the same itinerary cheaper elsewhere, call us before booking. We will match verified competitor pricing. This isn't small print — we've been matching prices for 30 years and we mean it.
Booking two or more tours together in the same region on consecutive days cuts transport costs significantly. Ask us about combination pricing — it's not always listed on the website but almost always available.
Tuesday–Thursday departures consistently cost less than Friday–Sunday on most routes. The experience is identical — you'll often have smaller groups and quieter sites too. Worth checking both options when booking.
When you go matters almost as much as where. Here's how Australian seasons affect both experience and price.
Temperatures are perfect across every region. Crowds haven't peaked yet. Melbourne and the south are spectacular. Queensland eases into its finest weather. Arguably the smartest time to visit.
High demand means higher prices on accommodation and popular tours. Book 8–12 weeks ahead to secure the best rates. Tasmania and Victoria are excellent. Avoid Far North Queensland in wet season (Nov–Apr).
Our single best recommendation for budget travellers. Prices across tours and accommodation soften noticeably from March. Conditions remain excellent. Crowds dissipate. The Red Centre is at its most comfortable.
Queensland and the Top End are at their absolute best — dry, clear, 22–26°C. It's peak season here so book early. Southern states are cooler but still great value, especially for city breaks and wine regions.
"I budgeted $2,000 for two weeks in Australia. Did five Cooee tours — East Coast Hop, Great Ocean Road, Yarra Valley, Red Centre camping and a Hinterland day trip. Came in under budget and saw everything on my list."
"The Great Ocean Road for $89 felt almost too cheap to be good. It was absolutely brilliant. Guide was fantastic, timing at the Twelve Apostles was perfect, and we got to pat a koala. Genuinely could not have done it better independently."
"Travelling with my teenage kids on a tight budget. The Sunshine Coast long weekend was $449 per adult. Three days, three nights, everything included. It was cheaper than the hotel alone would have been if I'd booked independently."
"Subscribed to the newsletter and got a flash deal on a Red Centre tour — 30% off with two weeks notice because there were three spots left. Five days including all camping gear and meals for $455. Unbelievable value."
"Used the best price guarantee and they genuinely matched a competitor on the spot without any fuss. Then they threw in a free upgrade on accommodation. Didn't expect that. Outstanding company."
"Retired, travelling solo, very fixed income. Cooee's no-single-supplement policy and their autumn pricing made it possible for me to do something I'd dreamed of for 20 years. Uluru at sunrise. I cried."
The price you see includes transport, guide, accommodation (multi-day tours), all listed activities and all national park entry fees. Meals are generally not included unless the tour listing specifically says so — you buy your own food locally. We'll always tell you clearly what's in and what's out, before you book.
Find a genuinely comparable tour at a lower price from an ATAS-accredited operator and we'll match it — no questions asked. The itinerary, inclusions and departure date need to be directly comparable. Call us on 0409 661 342 or email before booking and we'll check it immediately.
No single supplement on the overwhelming majority of our tours. We pair solo travellers in twin rooms where accommodation is included. Private room upgrades are available at a modest surcharge if you prefer your own space — but it's never mandatory.
Yes. Most tours require a deposit of 20–30% to secure your spot, with the balance due 30 days before departure. This makes planning ahead affordable without committing the full amount months in advance. The booking system will show the deposit amount clearly before you confirm.
Subscribe to our newsletter using the form in the footer. Flash sales are sent to subscribers first — typically 2–4 weeks before departure when a small number of spots in a tour haven't filled. Discounts range from 15–40%. These sell fast so the email list is the only reliable way to catch them.
60+ days before departure: full refund minus a $50 admin fee. 30–59 days: 50% refund. Less than 30 days: no refund, though we'll always try to move you to an alternative date if possible. We strongly recommend travel insurance. If we cancel a tour for any reason, you receive a full refund.
