Best Time for a Bali Retreat

Bali is a year-round destination, but timing your retreat to the seasons makes a meaningful difference to the experience.

☀️
Dry Season (Apr–Oct) — Best
Weather: Sunny, warm 26–32°C, low humidity, minimal rain. Perfect for all activities, clear skies and calm seas.
Peak: July–August. Book 4–6 months ahead for peak.
🌸
Shoulder Season (Apr–May, Sep–Oct) — Ideal
Excellent weather at 28–31°C with very low rainfall. Best value prices, fewer tourists and lush green landscapes. Highly recommended for Australian travellers.
🌧️
Wet Season (Nov–Mar)
Warm 27–30°C with brief afternoon showers (typically 1–2 hours). Most affordable time, dramatic landscapes and fewer crowds. Rain rarely disrupts retreat activities.
🙏
Special Bali Dates
Nyepi (Silent Day): A unique meditation experience in late March/April — the whole island observes complete silence and darkness for 24 hours. Galungan & Kuningan: Major Hindu festivals every 210 days with spectacular bamboo penjor decorations lining every road.

Retreat FAQ

Everything Australians ask before booking the Bali Paradise Retreat.

Absolutely — solo travellers are one of the most common guest types on this retreat, and many say it's the best decision they've ever made for themselves. You will have your own private villa, participate in group yoga and dining, but maintain complete independence. A solo supplement of $850 covers single villa occupancy. Contact us if you'd like information about roommate matching to share a villa and split the supplement.
No experience is required at all. Every yoga session is taught with full modifications for beginners and options for advanced practitioners. Our certified instructors create an inclusive space where you move at your own pace. You can also opt for gentler restorative sessions or meditation-only mornings at any time. The retreat is about personal wellness and renewal — not athletic performance or flexibility.
We accommodate all dietary needs — vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, nut allergies, halal and kosher. Balinese cuisine is naturally adaptable with rice, vegetables, tofu, tempeh, tropical fruits and fresh seafood at its heart. Please advise us of any requirements at the time of booking so our kitchen team can plan personalised meals for you throughout the entire retreat.
The retreat is designed for relaxation and gentle movement and is suitable for most fitness levels. Activities include moderate walking at temples and rice terraces (typically 30–60 minutes on uneven ground), gentle to moderate yoga, and relaxing spa treatments. The optional Mount Batur sunrise trek requires moderate fitness (comparable to a 3-hour bush walk), but non-hikers have a relaxed morning alternative and both groups meet at the hot springs. If you can walk comfortably for 30 minutes, you will manage the retreat beautifully.
Each day's included spa session runs 90–150 minutes and combines a full-body Balinese massage with warm coconut or sesame oil, a body scrub (coffee, sea salt or rice, depending on the day), a flower petal bath and a facial treatment with locally sourced botanical products. Specialist treatments throughout the week include the traditional Boreh warming spice wrap, hot stone therapy, ocean ritual and the final-day 2.5-hour Paradise Ritual. All products are natural and locally produced on the island.
